FIREFISH LURES

The amazing Firefish is the only known kiln-fired fused glass lure specifically designed to catch salmon without the use of a flasher. It is the result of several years of testing of numerous prototypes to come up with the perfect combination of shape, curvature, size and colours.

The 'Firefish' is a solid lure combining 5 or more layers of glass that are fused together at a very high temperature. It is fired in a kiln a second time to bend it to the proper curve. It includes a 100-pound test wire running through the center with loops at each end for attaching to your line and attaching the hooks.

A yellow and black eye, with a red gill just under the eye is the important final touch. The three triangles on the side of the fish make it look like its already been hit by a bigger fish thus making it an easier target. The radius of the bend is key to the Firefish's success in attracting fish. At the proper speed it will roll one way then the other and then dart back and forth in the water simulating the motion of an injured herring.

The lure is designed in a variety of colours to catch, Chum, Chinook, Coho and Pink Salmon. In addition it is also effective on Halibut as well as Cod and other ground fish.

The lures are also good for lake trolling and have caught salmon in lake superior (the Jr.'Firefish' lure is good for the lake trolling).

For the best results; first locate the salmon on your fish finder, tie the lure directly onto your line. 'DO NOT USE A FLASHER!' Put out about 27 feet of your line, hook onto your downrigger cable, and lower your downrigger to just above the depth of the salmon. Troll slowly; the lure will 'roll' over and 'dart'. Every so often, put your engine in neutral then back into gear again. This causes the lure to 'flutter', an action which also attracts salmon. If you get hits and no hook ups try dropping the motor into neutral and let the lure flutter down for a minute or so. This will often result in a final strike and hook up of your fish.
